Causes Of Fibromyalgia
Causes Of Fibromyalgia Reveled
My daughter was recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, an often
misdiagnosed and misunderstood disease. Most researchers agree that
it is related to the nervous system, but the underlying causes of fibromyalgia remains unknown as of yet .
Her symptoms started with chronic pain characterized by widespread pain of
the muscles bones, stiffness, general fatigue, and sleep disturbances.
Walking and simple tasks like putting on socks and shoes became difficult. She moved to a ground level apartment because the stairs in her old apartment became almost impossible to navigate as her condition became worse.
It is estimated that 12 million Americans have fibromyalgia. Most
are women ranging in age from 25 to 60. Females are 10 times more
likely to get this disease than males.
- Fibromyalgia Symptoms

- Incapacitating fatigue
- abdominal pain
- anxiety and depression
- difficulty maintaining sleep or light sleep
- fatigue upon arising
- inability to concentrate
- incontinence
- irritable bowel syndrome
- numbness or tingling in the fingers and feet
- painful menstrual cramps
- stiffness
- chronic headaches
- dryness in mouth, nose, and eyes
- hypersensitivity to cold and/or heat
Fibromyalgia can cause signs and feelings similar to osteoarthritis, Some experts include bursitis and tendinitis in this group of arthritis and related disorders. But pain from bursitis or tendinitis is localized to a specific areas.
The feelings of pain and joint stiffness with fibromyalgia are widespread
The causes of Fibromyalgia is thought to be a genetic component according
to recent research conducted on this disorder. Fibromyalgia is often found in families.
Physical trauma like acute illness or injury can often trigger the onset of Fibromyalgia.
The central nervous system is thought to be one of the underlying mechanism for the causes of Fibromyalgia, according to some recent research.
Recent studies have found that people with Fibromyalgia process pain in a different way than healthy individuals. Stimuli that would not ordinarily be painful
in healthy individuals, tends to be amplified in FM patients.
Treatment:
At the present time the causes of fibromyalgia is not known so a cure for Fibromyalgia can be difficult. Treatment is mostly focused on relieving symptoms and improving function.
Prescription medications are often used to reduce pain and improve sleep. On June 21, 2007, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Lyrica (pregabalin) as the first drug to treat fibromyalgia.
Alternative therapies seem to help reduce pain, such as massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, herbal supplements, myofascial release, and an exercise program, can be effective tools in managing Fibromyalgia symptoms.
Plenty of rest, planned activities, stress reduction, relaxation and the right nutrition can help minimize symptoms and improve quality of life.
My daughter is now in an exercise program, she has participated in pain clinics, sees her doctor on a regular basis, uses all natural and safe gorcery store items , continues to be active, and is living her live with a positive attitude.

Chronic pain often long outlives its original cause, too much medication can harm your body an worsening over time and taking on a life of its own. Recent research has shown that chronic pain is destructive to your body. your best choice is colon cleanse to build strong immune systems. The longer chronic pain goes untreated, the worse it becomes. Chronic pain unleashes a cascade of harmful hormones, such as cortisol, that adversely affect your immune system and kidney function. You can’t expect it to go away by itself.

Great points…I would note that as someone who really doesn’t comment to blogs much (in fact, this may be my first post), I don’t think the term “lurker” is very becoming to a non-posting reader. It’s not your fault in the least , but perhaps the blogosphere could come up with a better, non-creepy name for the 90% of us that enjoy just reading the content .
